Meet Dr. Chrissy

Dr. Chrissy’s mission is to provide personalized, quality chiropractic care with an emphasis on preventive measures and patient education.  She strives to give her patients more fulfilled and enjoyable lives through chiropractic and hopes her patients share their experiences with others.  Dr. Chrissy is very patient focused and specializes in knowing you as a person, not a number.  Her easy going personality and sense of humor make getting to know her a snap.  Her goal is to improve your health and wellness so you can live a better life.

Dr. Chrissy did her undergraduate work at the University of Iowa pursuing a career in healthcare.  Coming from a family of physicians, nurses, pharmacists and chiropractors it wasn’t hard to want to pursue a career in healthcare, but which one?  Medicine has its place, but Chrissy knew Chiropractic offered so much that medicine did not.  With that realization Chrissy decided she wanted to improve patients’ lives through chiropractic and transferred to Palmer College of Chiropractic to complete her undergraduate work. Chrissy received her B.S. and D.C. degrees October of 2009 and is now a licensed chiropractic physician practicing in Durant, IA. Prior to opening her own practice, Dr. Chrissy did her clinical training under Dr. Paula Edwards of Chiropractic Works in Clinton, IA.

I personally feel chiropractic care is the most valuable form of health care available.  Chiropractic care focuses on the relationship between the spine (the center of the nervous system) and the overall well being of the entire body.  We put nothing into the body and take nothing out.  The less stress put on the body the quicker the body will heal. – Dr. Chrissy Albery, D.C

Dr. Chrissy has touched the lives of thousands of patients and even spent 3 weeks in Vietnam adjusting patients desperately needing healthcare with no money to pay for it.  She witnessed first hand huge improvements in many patients who were suffering from the labors of picking rice.  Her only regret is not having more time to help these patients and this humbling experience has most definitely changed Dr. Chrissy’s life.

Palmer is not only the birthplace of Chiropractic, but also the number one institution in the world for learning this delicate skill. Dr. Chrissy is a national board certified chiropractic physician that practices traditional diversified chiropractic technique as well as low-force (activator) technique for patients who are uneasy about the "cracking" sound heard in many adjustments. Dr. Chrissy also uses trigger point technique (Nimmo) which is a special method to aid in the release of toxins stored up in tight muscles. This technique not only loosens muscles which improves adjustments, but also rids the body of unwanted stored waste which form knots in the muscles. It also does wonders for muscle spasms.

Dr. Chrissy is committed to the learning process. She strives to continually enhance patient care by keeping abreast of current research in a variety of aspects of medicine and health care. She takes a minimum of 24 hours of continuing education each year on nutritional therapy, sports injuries, physiology, chiropractic treatment techniques, etc.

Since Dr. Chrissy is a sole practitioner, she personally provides all aspects of your treatment.  This means she will know you on a personal level and deliver the highest quality care that you deserve.

“The doctor of the future will give no medicine, but will interest his or her patients in the care of the human frame, in a proper diet, and in the cause and prevention of disease.”
- Thomas A. Edison
